Kate ten Buuren

Kate ten Buuren is an inter-disciplinary artist, curator, writer and filmmaker based in Naarm. Kate is a fiercely proud Taungurung woman, with strong connections to her extended Kulin Nation family, and creates work that allows her to investigate her family stories and connect more deeply with ancestral knowledge and practices.

Kate is also the founder of First Nations arts collective ‘this mob’ who facilitate spaces and events that aim to build strength between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, celebrate blakness, and destroy imposed boundaries that try to inhibit our creativity and culture.
