Michelle Cahill’s collection of short fiction, Letter to Pessoa won the UTS Glenda Adams Award, in the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards. She was shortlisted in the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Vishvarupa and received the Val Vallis Award in Poetry. She edits Mascara and co edited Decibels3 and Contemporary Asian Australian Poets. She has written on race, #intersectionality and narrative mediation in the appraisal of CALD writers. Her essays have appeared in Sydney Review of Books, Southerly, The Australian and Westerly.
