Evelyn Araluen is a poet, educator, and researcher working with Indigenous literatures at the University of Sydney. In 2017 she was the winner of the Nakata Brophy Prize for Young Indigenous Writers, and in 2018 she won the Judith Wright Prize for emerging poets. Her writing has appeared in a range of publications such as Overland, Southerly, Peril, and Cordite. In Sydney she is a coordinator of Black Rhymes Aboriginal Poetry Night. Born and raised in Dharug country and community, she is a descendant of the Bundjalung nation.
